JAZZ CONCERT SERIES OPENS ( Special Guest Artist Veteran of Count Basie Band)

     On Sunday, November 2 at 5 p.m. , the CNY Jazz Arts Foundation celebrates the start of its Jazz Vespers Series at 
    Pebble Hill Presbyterian Church, 5299 Jamesville Rd. , Dewitt, across from the MPH school. Guest artist Ronnie Leigh  
    and the CNY Jazz Quartet will perform. Hosted by the Rev. Peter Shidemantle, the services are a combination of 
    inspirational and meditative readings, homily, and jazz played by members of the CNY Jazz Orchestra and various guest 
    vocalists. The jazz selections are drawn from secular and sacred sources, representing a wide range of composers as 
    varied as Duke Ellington, Chick Corea, Cole Porter, and Stephen Foster, and well-known hymns in jazz settings for all to 
    enjoy singing as they wish.
