Shake Off the Winter Blues at January JAZZfest 2012
Posted: January 11, 2012Shake off the post-holiday blahs, be seen at the hippest winter party of the year, and help a premier Central New York arts organization continue its prize-winning scholastic and public programs by attending the January JAZZfest.
This full-day celebration of fine food and drink and first-class jazz, bebop, blues, Latin, and cabaret will take place at the historic Mohegan Manor, Baldwinsville, NY on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 from noon to 9 p.m.
Thanks to generous support from Seneca Federal Savings and Loan Association, Mohegan Manor, and other sponsors listed below, January JAZZfest is a fundraiser for CNY Jazz Central, which presents more than 100 concerts and other events to an audience of 70,000 annually, trains more than 400 students at year-round clinics, and runs Jazz Central, the “busiest little theater in town!”

Festivities start with gourmet brunch at noon in Club Sushi, serenaded by Judy Falatico and friends. Then guests can peel off for a 1 p.m. coffee hour, featuring specialty drinks, and continue enjoying a full day of continuous music on all four floors of Baldwinsville’s Mohegan Manor—CNY’s hottest multi-room club, just 20 minutes from downtown Syracuse.
Guests can wander the entire facility to discover a spectacular world of music in all styles, featuring international sax star and Chuck Mangione band alum Chris Vadala and international jazz singer Nancy Kelly. There’ll also be food stations throughout (including Club Sushi menu items), a cash bar, charity wine tastings, a fine art silent auction, and much more! The fest culminates with a 6 p.m. celebrity jam, hosted by Jeff Stockham’s Jazz Police.
“There are so many choices to be had at this bash, guests are encouraged to design their own day,” says Larry Luttinger, Executive Director, CNY Jazz and organizer of the event “If they have to run home to check on the kids or let the dog out, they can come and go as they please, thanks to a re-entry wristband.

Mohegan Manor is only 20 minutes (14 miles) from downtown Syracuse. Take Route 690 west past the State Fairgrounds to the Van Buren Road exit. Take a right at the end of the off-ramp, follow Van Buren Rd. to Oswego Road/Route 48, then take a left toward Baldwinsville. Drive over the Lock 24 bridge into the village center, go through the crossroads, and Mohegan Manor will be in the block on your right. At the end of the block, turn right onto Elizabeth Street and then take an immediate right (an access road) into the municipal parking lots (also accessible from E. Genesee St/Route 370). Parking is FREE.
