CNY Jazz announces waterside dining series

Jazz at Timber Banks and Jazz at the Sherwood scheduled for June through August

Syracuse NY – CNY Jazz continues its tradition of providing great music to accompany fine dining across Central New York with the continuation of the Jazz at Timber Banks and Jazz at the Sherwood series this summer.

A diverse lineup of groups playing a wide variety of styles will perform every Tuesday at Persimmons in the Timber Banks golf and marina community in Baldwinsville and on Wednesdays on the Hannum House lawn of the lakeside Sherwood Inn in Skaneateles.

“I can’t think of two more beautiful spots near the water to host our music series,” said Larry Luttinger, CNY Jazz founder and director. “There are no cover charges, and our CNY Jazz annual donors will get 10% off food and drink as a benefit of their support for our non-profit arts organization.”

The music at Persimmons takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. in the restaurant, with full summer menu selections available. Reservations are strongly suggested by calling 315-635-8812. Twelve events are scheduled.

At the Sherwood Inn, artists perform from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on the porch of the Hannum House to outdoor diners on the lawn. An à la carte menu is offered. Reservations are required by visiting the Sherwood Inn’s dining reservation page or calling 315-685-3405. The rain location is inside the inn. Twelve events are scheduled.

This year the Sherwood Inn’s lineup will be stronger than ever, with the support of sponsor Timeless Hearing, the leading hearing technology providers in the region. “Hearing, listening, is such an integral part of the musical experience, and as a musician, I know how important this is to quality of life. We’re proud to partner with Timeless Hearing.  They have the leading edge with their technology and really care about their patients.”

All told, the twin summer series present over 20 groups from across upstate New York playing a wide variety of styles, centered on cabaret jazz, funk, blues, and Americana. National artists Nancy Kelly appears with her full band, and Chuck Lamb from the Brubeck Brothers performs with Peter Mack. The regional lineup includes Cheri Giraud and Neil Cohen, Diana Jacobs, Grupo Pagan, Mike Houston and Sam Wynn, Stringdom, Dan Fields, Scott Dennis, Vanessa Vacanti, Kirsten Tegtmeyer, Letizia, Rick and Julie’s Jazz Asylum, Simpatico, Alex Becerra and Friends, Kim Fetters and Andy Rudy, The Hanlon Carroll and Martin Trio, LuBossa, Ronnie France’s Bass On Top, and introduces a new all-star regional group, “Actual Proof”, led by Ronnie France, with Ed Vivenzio, Brian Scherer, Rick Balestra, and Evan Duchene.
