Jazz On Tap series expands in Skaneateles

Syracuse NY – The 24th year of CNY Jazz programming kicks into gear with the fifth season of “Jazz On Tap”, the Sunday afternoon jazz series presented by CNY Jazz in the Finger Lakes On Tap brewpub and restaurant in Skaneateles. Events will take place on select Sundays from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, including a special Saturday night kickoff party with Ronnie Leigh on September 7th from 7:00 to 10:00 pm, and a now traditional New Year’s Day party with Angelo Candela’s combo, for those unable to party the night before or who need a second dose of fun. The series is expanding from 20 to 29 events, and this season’s lineup features past regulars and new faces. All events are free, with no cover charge. “CNY Jazz Club” cardholders will receive 10% of food and drink.

“We’ve put together a fresh new group of artists this season, the best in the extended region,” according to Larry Luttinger, curator of the series. “Mark Nanni and The Intention were a hit last year, so we’re bringing them back for multiple dates. Other new faces are Mike Cortese’s new Latin Jazz combo ‘Montuno Blue’, Jeff Stockham doing his tribute to Chet Baker, and powerhouse singer Nancy Kelly, along with long-time series favorites from past years. We’re also bringing former Syracusan Jon Leroy in from Albany with his trio.” Other acts include Rochester’s Jon Seiger, the acoustic swing of Stringdom, Auburn favorites Cookie Coogan and Bob Piorun, the E.S.P. Quartet, Edgar Pagan’s GPL, Ithaca’s Sally Ramirez, Ronnie Leigh, and guitarist Steve Brown, who is paired this year with Elmira organist Dino Losito.

Finger Lakes on Tap offers 60 taps, with a wide and eclectic selection of beers crafted locally, regionally, and internationally. The complete tap selection is detailed at www.fingerlakesontap.com. A light menu complements the tap selections.
